The yard and bulk debris routes will follow that same schedule. Any yard or bulk debris not collected will be collected the following week. Please put your carts out as soon as possible, there will be extra equipment out all week to ensure all garbage routes are completed. Please remember that any excess cardboard can be taken to the Charleston County Convenience Center located at 1716 Signal Point Rd.
Solid Waste will also be closed Monday January 1st, 2024. We will follow the normal holiday slide-day schedule that week, garbage and trash will operate one day behind. If you have a Wastewater emergency, please call 843.795.2345.

Tropical Storm Idalia | Solid Waste Schedule Update 2
Due to the impacts of Hurricane Idalia, the JIPSD Signal Point Operations will close at 1pm this afternoon Wednesday, August 30th. A planned reopening of the JIPSD Signal Point Operations is planned for noon Thursday, August 30th at noon – weather dependent.
The Solid Waste Department will run on a limited schedule on Wednesday, focusing on garbage collection and as much yard debris and bulk items as we can. We will evaluate the conditions Thursday morning and we are currently planning a delayed start, this is subject to change depending on conditions. If we cannot operate safely Thursday, garbage collection will take place on Friday September 1st. Please refrain from putting out large yard debris piles and bulk items out until after the storm passes. Also, all small debris MUST be bagged. Please don’t rake loose piles onto the road, they create a hazard during high winds. We will continue to monitor the conditions and post updates if the situation changes.
