James Island Public Service District

Effective July 6, 2009, we will expand our buisness hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday and our offices will be CLOSED ON FRIDAYS. Gargabe and trash collection will remain as scheduled.

The James Island PSD's offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of Independence Day and there will be no garbage or trash collection on this day. Solid Waste services will resume on Monday, July 6th.

The James Island Public Service District (JIPSD) provides services for fire protection, wastewater collection, and solid waste collection, as well as, street signs and lighting to the residents of James Island, South Carolina.

Pump Station 33: The Rehabilitation of Pump Station 33 located on Secessionville Road is currently in the design phase.
Schooner Road Project Update: The Schooner Road project will add approximately 2500 linear feet of gravity sewer line and 44 services on Schooner Road to connect to an existing sewer system within the Lighthouse Point Subdivision. UPDATE: Request for Proposals are now being accepted for the Schooner Road project.

To provide fire protection and rescue, solid waste collection and wastewater services, as well as emergency and natural disaster response to the citizens of James Island while anticipating and addressing the needs, interests and priorities of our community in a responsive, cost effective and professional manner.

To improve the quality of life of the citizens and visitors of James Island, as well as that of our employees, while educating and increasing public knowledge of the resources that promote the well-being of the community and environment.
