There are four James Island Public Service District Fire
Stations. Station 1, the main station, is located at 1622
Camp Road; Station 2 is located at 853 Harborview Road; Station
3, our newest station, is located at 78 Plymouth Avenue in
Riverland Terrace and Station 4 is located at 1833 Folly Road.
These stations have been strategically placed to provide quick
response time to all areas of the District. Fire Protection
and Rescue services are provided to approximately 10,350 homes
and businesses in the Town of James Island, the City of Charleston,
the City of Folly Beach and the unincorporated areas on James
Island, S.C.

The Fire Department acts as First Responders on all medical
calls dispatched within the District and assists Charleston
County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in providing life
support services.
In addition, we provide the following community outreach
programs: courtesy fire safety home inspections, free smoke
and carbon dioxide detectors and public education activities
which include our Fire Safety House (mobile trailer) demonstrations
and fire prevention programs in local schools, churches, civic
and neighborhood groups throughout the community.
